Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Translate All uses, why, and how long we keep it. Translate All is a Google Workspace add-on for Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides, developed by Joey Bronner.
Google user data we access
- Your email address (
userinfo.email). We use it to count your weekly free usage and to check if you have a paid subscription. - The content of the open file (
documents.currentonly,presentations.currentonly,spreadsheets). When you click Translate, the add-on reads the text you chose to translate and writes the translation into the same file. It never opens your other files.
How we use this data
- To translate your content. The text goes to Google's translation service (Google Apps Script), and the translation is written into your file.
- To apply the free weekly limit.
- To check your subscription status.
- To fix bugs, with error reports.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train AI models.
Subscription check
When a translation would go over the free weekly limit, Translate All checks if your Google account has a paid subscription. It sends your email address, and nothing else, to our own subscription service hosted on Google Apps Script (script.google.com). The service only answers if the subscription is active and its end date. Translate All cannot connect to any other external address.
What we store and for how long
- Usage counter: your email address, the number of translations, the date and the add-on version. Stored in a spreadsheet owned by the developer. Deleted after 7 days.
- Error reports: your email address, the error message, the date and the Google app used. Deleted after 12 months.
- Subscription records, for paid users only: the details sent by Stripe or PayPal (name, email address, billing address, subscription dates, payment reference). Kept while your subscription is active, then as long as accounting law requires. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Add-on storage in your Google account: your email address and your subscription end date, so the add-on does not check your subscription on every click. Updated at each subscription check.
We never store the content of your documents, spreadsheets or presentations.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your data. We only share it with the service providers that run Translate All:
- Google (Google Workspace and Google Apps Script) hosts the add-on, its translation service and our spreadsheets.
- Stripe and PayPal process payments.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Translate All's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Remove Translate All's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Ask us to delete your data: email contact@joeybronner.fr from the Google account concerned. We delete it within 30 days, except the records the law requires us to keep.
Security
Our data is stored in Google Workspace. All data transfers use HTTPS.
This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It loads fonts and scripts from Google servers.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update this page and its effective date.
